ABOUT ME
I have included a cover letter that you can read by clicking on the button at the bottom but wanted to give you a little more background into how I got to where I am now.
I am a graduate of Milton High School in Milton Florida, class of '93. I graduated from Indiana State University in 1999 with a Bachelors degree in Physical Education. I got my first two years of coaching experience by volunteering while I was still in college. After college, I moved to South Carolina and continued coaching football, track and weightlifting. In 2002 I got married to Lesli (we knew each other from high school) and we moved to Polk County Florida. Over the next eight years I accomplished a lot of my early career goals by becoming a coordinator, getting my masters degree in sports management from the United States Sports Academy online program, and even becoming the youngest head coach in central Florida at the time. Lesli and I added to our family by having two boys who are eight and ten years old now. In 2010, I took a position in Madison County FL. Over the next three years we went 36-5, won three district and regional championships and was the state runner-up in 2011 and 2012. At the end of that third season an opportunity arose for me to take my wife and family back to Milton where it all started. So we moved back home and I helped turn around a dying program that hadn't had a winning season in over 5 years. The first year we went 6-4. Three years later I was offered the head coaching job at Newberry High School. Newberry hadn't been to the playoffs in five years and really had lost it's identity and culture. In just the first year the team trusted the process, started believing in each other and themselves, forming a family like bond and ended up going 9-1 and only losing by 1 point in overtime in the state playoffs. We will end up having six of these seniors have the opportunity to continue their education at the college level and that to me is the real success!
